Global Payments Inc. is an American multinational financial technology company that provides payment technology and services to merchants, issuers and consumers. It handles a wide range of payments, from credit and debit cards to digital and contactless payments. The company was named to the Fortune 500 in June 2021.
In 2022, we entered into a partnership with Global Payments. Our mission was clear - to participate in the development of the extension of GP webpay (the most used payment gateway on Czech e-shops) with functionality for instant bank payments. The aim of this extension was to streamline the payment process and provide added value to e-shops in particular, but also to other entities using GP webpay.
The GP webpay payment gateway has been extended with the option of instant bank payment. With this technology, people using GP webpay no longer have to wait for a bank transfer, which can take up to several days (especially on weekends and with certain banks). Instead, they can use instant bank payments which, unlike card payments, do not require entering sensitive credit card details. The solution works by redirecting them to mobile banking, where the payment can be made securely and quickly.
